Willow Rosenberg

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the brain child of Mr Joss Wedon.  This blog is in no way associated with the man, but my own musings.  All footage, quotes and stills belong to him.
Willow, Willow, Willow...what can we say about this super cute turn psychopathic witch?  The girl who didn't celebrate Christmas and fell in love with her best friend, a computer, a werewolf and a witch.  Willow changed, yet stayed the same.  Although she went from geeky girl to magic dependent in the blink of an eye, mostly, she was still dependable Willow.  Even as Black Willow, she was being evil out of love.  Her love of course, soon turned to hate, but I always believe she was always there.  Is it surprising that she was brought back to "earth" by Xander, her first love.  The boy who had no super powers, just by telling her, he loved her over and over again.  Well done Xander.  But also well done Willow, as she was a very complex soul even at this point.  She was black as black - stinky cheese and black veins, but under it all, she was still brought back by love.  She had a very dynamic relationship with all her beaus.  Oz, who asked "Who is that girl?"  more than once in season 2.  Tara who ended so tragically, after all they had been through.  (Part of me will never fully forgive Wedon for that death) Even Kennedy...although I believe this was a rebound.  She was too annoying to be anything more for someone as wonderful as Willow.  Yet, that is only my opinion.  Xander of course, the first love to hurt her so terribly with Cordelia... "I hate Cordelia club, which you are treasurer." How incredibly twisted this characterization is.

Xander Harris

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the brain child of Mr Joss Wedon.  This blog is in no way associated with the man, but my own musings.  All footage, quotes and stills belong to him.
Xander Harris, season 1, episode 1: Welcome to the Hellmouth
Xander Harris; friend confidant and all round good guy.  He is man with witty come-backs.  He is loyal, loving and attracts demons!  He is best friend to Willow and Buffy.  He hates Angel and Spike.  He has a love/hate relationship with Cordelia Chase.  He is a very good friend.  Lets break this down.  He is loyal however, he did cheated on Cordelia with Willow and he stood Anya up at the alter.  He is the man who sees everything.  What Caleb does to him at the Vine-yard still makes me wince when I watch it.  He saved the world with talking!  How many people can say that?  He loved Buffy a lot!  And then just loved her.  He is brave.  "I laugh in the face of danger...and then I hide until it goes away." I know he says this.  I still say he's brave.  From the very first episode, when he wants to help find Jesse, his best bud at the time until he actually saves the world from Evil Willow, I call him brave.  He was brave when he ended with with Anya.  He was the one who knew it wouldn't work and was brave enough to say it out loud.  (Unforgivable with the timing...) He stands up to Buffy a lot.  About Angel, about Riley and about Spike.  He got a job at the Uni pub so he could look out for his friends.  He was ridiculed about his 'status' which would make most people run and hide.  He did not.  He stayed to help his friend.  This is not the end of Xander speak...

Welcome to the Hellmouth

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the brain child of Mr Joss Wedon.  This blog is in no way associated with the man, but my own musings.  All footage, quotes and stills belong to him.
So who is she?  The one known as the slayer?  Buffy Anne Summers moved to Sunnydale after being thrown out of her last school.  Hemery high - the gym went up in flames! And why??  Because of all the vampires, of course.  So Buffy comes to Sunnydale.  At first refusing to admit that she is who the 'new' librarian believes she is.  - The Slayer -

"Well its not like, you're having the dreams" Giles says.  Buffy is not impressed.  She wants to stay away from those vamps ok?  She wants to fit in.  Have a normal teenage girl existence.  Apparently she came to the wrong town.

Speculation here, did she come to the Sunnydale, because coincidentally, her mother landed a job in the museum in the town with one of the deadliest hellmouths OR do we was the Summers clan dragged to Sunnydale by powers we just don't want to fathom.

Buffy could be the cool kid.  She was the coolest at Hemery, but this changes when she realises her fate as the Slayer. Unconsciously, she knows she can't be too cool, if she disappears a lot of the time, and 'patrolling' after the sun goes down.

If she had stuck to the bitchiness of the Cordy world, Buffy would have been the original mean girl.  The show's dynamic would have completely have changed.  Of course, its always three isn't it?  Harry Potter, Supernatural, Doctor Who and Sherlock spring to mind.  So of course: Buffy starts with Xander and Willow.  Even in the end, when there is a lot of hanger-ons, its still them three.

This first day, Buffy chooses Willow over Cordy.  They have that moment, at the water cooler, where Buffy knows (not understanding why, of course) that she needs to be friends with this girl. That this girl will help save th world with her in the future. It was more of Willow, than Xander.

We meet the master, who is the evil ancient vampire dude who exudes badness. As a 15 year old girl, damn. Scary!

So we're introduced to Willow, the ultra nerdy girl who is wonderful from day one ("Deliver" - ha ha) and Xander, the equally nerdy boy with his sights on the newbie blonde! We also are introduced to Jesse, who comes to his untimely death...And Cordi, she's a mega bitch! But we love her! Every town needs a Cordy!

We meet Darla in the first five minutes! How awesome is she?

And then, of course, there is Angel! Hot, spunky and the epitome of brooding Vampire, with a soul! Gees, who saw that coming? And not a sparkle in him...thank God!

It all started with an idea and then Mr Joss Wheden ran with it - made a mediocre film followed by 7 seasons of pure genius.  Before I go on, I want to make it apparently clear that I never claim to be an expert.  I am just fan.  Sure, I might know a bit more than the average "I've only seen BtVS once" fan BUT I am still just a fan - like you.  I have wanted to start a blog on Buffy for years, and lets face it, its nothing new. Its actually astounding at how many other obsessed fans there are out there.  This series has been off air for a few years now and we're still not over it.  Well, I'm not over it.  It drives some of my close friends/relatives spare.  So, I've started and this will be for me,  If you want to be a part of it, welcome.  If you want to impart your favourite Buffy moments, please do.  So this blog is just a sporadic discussion about Buffy.  One week, it may be about an episode or a scene or a character.  No rhyme nor reason to how I will venture into this, just how the thoughts unjumble themselves from one week to the next,
